Pittsburgh Mills

Approximately 8 million cubic yards of excavation was balanced on the 285-acre Pittsburgh Mills regional mall site, Frazer Township, Pa. Site civil engineering services were provided on the project in mountainous terrain that included innovative design techniques for utilities. Eleven miles of underground utilities were designed on a site with challenges of two high pressure gas lines that could not be disrupted, two abandoned natural gas wells requiring venting and the relocation of three overhead electric transmission towers.
